Mango Prepaid Card Overview

The Mango prepaid debit card is one of the better cards out there for the simple fact they offer their users the chance to earn up to 6.00% APY (Annual Percentage Yield).

Not many other prepaid debit cards offer a savings account feature for the unbanked. Another great thing about the Mango prepaid debit card is the wide variety of ways that you can add money to the card.

Users of the Mango card can load money onto their card via direct deposit, bank transfer, or at the cash register using Green Dot’s Reload Network or PayPal. The PayPal option isn’t offered by many other prepaid debit cards, so that is something to highlight. For a fee, Mango also allow their users to custom design and personalize their debit card.

Mango Prepaid Card Fees

The Mango prepaid card is slightly heavy on fees compared to other prepaid cards. Mango charges $3 for ATM withdrawals which is on the expensive side compared to other brands that charge $2.50. An $8 inactivity fee is also slightly high compared to competitors, who charge around $5. Unfortunately Mango has not mentioned anything about their Signature & Pin transaction fees, which may raise transparency issues.

Worth Mentioning: Brinks & Mango are two of the few prepaid debit cards that offer a savings account with APY. Other prepaid cards like Green Dot and Serve allow users to save their money in a reserve, but it's not possible to earn with APY.

Where Can I Get a Mango Prepaid Card

Mango prepaid cards to my knowledge cannot be picked up at any retail stores. The good news is you can still get the mango card by simply scrolling up to the top of the page and click on the "Apply Now" link which will take you to the official Mango prepaid card website. After filling out the forms and signing up, your Mango card will be shipped directly to your door. Best part of all, YOU PAY NOTHING!
